Shares in PDA maker palmOne reached $40 last week, little more than a year after the price plunged so low that Palm faced being delisted from the Nasdaq stock exchange. palmOne, which was formed late last year following the splitting of the original Palm into its hardware and software components, owes its recent success to the June 2003 acquisition of rival Palm OS licensee Handspring and its Treo line of smart phones. BT is trumpeting a ?12 million investment in an international voice platform based on internet protocol (IP). Due to be completed in March 2008, the project is part of BT's '21st Century Network' (21CN) initiative, its next-generation telecommunications network.
