Warner Bros films coming to Blu-ray

Warner Bros has given a timely boost to Blu-ray by announcing that it will release films on the next-generation high-definition DVD discs next year. Warner had previously committed to making movies available on the rival format HD DVD and explained that the decision to hedge its bet was made after the two camps failed to reach agreement on a unified format. IBM subpoenas major tech firms over SCO dealings

IBM has subpoenaed major tech firms and investors to come clean about their relationship with SCO, hinting at a revelatory period in the multi-billion dollar Unix IP suit. SCO, which alleges IBM has improperly used Unix intellectual property it claims as its own, forged a series of agreements that added confidence to its position in the years before and since it launched its suit. Microsoft could face huge EU fine

Microsoft could face a fine as high as $2.5 billion and be forced to drop features from Windows, according to confidential documents seen by The New York Times. According to the US newspaper, the documents reveal that the European Commission is alleging that Microsoft illegally used its Windows and Office software to, 'muscle into the fast-growing market for corporate and Internet computer software,' and that it, 'illegally sought to dominate music and video software for the Web. ...more
