HP has designs on pro proofing market

Hewlett-Packard aims to capture a slice of the professional desktop proofing market with its new Designjet 10ps, 20ps and 50ps inkjet printers. The new Designjet models all handle oversize A3 media, use a six-colour printing process, and allow 'closed loop' calibration. Microsoft leaks release date for Whistler

Microsoft has set the internal date for the final version of Whistler at 18 April 2001, according to an internal e-mail. ZDNet News reports that the e-mail says the final version of the follow up to Windows 2000 will be minted in the spring and in the shops in the second half of 2001. AMD revs up new notebook engines

AMD has announced three new mobile Athlon XP-M processors: the 2800+ and two low-voltage models, the 2000+ and 1900+. While the 2800+ is aimed at desktop-replacement notebooks, the low-voltage offerings are targeted at thinner and lighter laptops. The person behind the lastminute email describing the delights of children's attractions in the capital as 'Like Gary Glitter in a sweet shop, you too can have your pick of kiddy treats in London's theatre world', is relying on others to correct future PR disasters. The lastminute email motivated recipients to complain to the Advertising Standards Agency who considered the email 'likely to cause serious or widespread offence'. According to Internet sources, a subsequent internal email to lastminute staffers by the author puts the responsibility on them to raise alarm bells. ...more
