MP calls for spam action

Paul Flynn has proposed a change in the law to outlaw spam email, as the tidal wave reaches even the far flung shores of MPs' inboxes. Flynn proposed in the House of Commons yesterday a 10-minute rule bill to alter the Consumer Protection (direct selling) regulations 2000 by making it an offence to send unsolicited commercial emails. UN says spam can be canned in two years

The world can be free of spam within two years estimates United Nations International Telecommunications Union according to a report by the Reuters news agency. Security switched on for latest Windows CE release

Microsoft has taken the lid of the latest version of its operating system for mobile and embedded devices at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco. AMD publishes standard specification for server system management

AMD has published a specification for what is it calling the Open Platform Management Architecture or OPMA. The aim is to provide server OEMs with a standard interface between the server and the server management subsystem. AMD says that the new OPMA specification defines a whole series of key interfaces for the connector, electrical, mechanical and firmware to allow OEMS to build a flexible, modular, card-based platform management subsystems. ...more
