Russian hacker groups sold .wmf exploits

Moscow-based Kaspersky Labs claims exploits for the .wmf vulnerability that emerged over the Christmas period were being sold on the virus underground by Russian hacker groups for $4,000. Kaspersky claims in its Malware Evolution report for the last quarter of 2005 that 'it seems that two or three competing hacker groups from Russia were selling this exploit for $4,000. ...more

QuickTime Steaming Server 3 previewed

Apple has released a free public preview of the QuickTime Streaming Server 3 software. QTSS allows users to stream audio and video over the Internet and the new version includes skip protection and a web-based interface allowing local or remote configuration, and when coupled with Mac OS X Server on a Power Mac G4 it can support more than 3000 concurrent QuickTime streams.
