Computer Associates CFO forced to resign

The Chief Financial Officer and two other executives of software giant Computer Associates has been forced to resign following an announcement that US Federal Authorities have launched an investigation into its accounting practices. The investigation follows allegations that Computer Associates added revenue booked in one quarter to the previous quarter's results. Apple and Microsoft battle over iPod market dominance

Apple has defended the dominance of iPod and the iTunes Music Store after Microsoft attacked it at the launch of the MSN Music Store yesterday. Toshiba has taken the wraps off its Pocket PC e570 handheld. Already available in Japan as the Genio, the PDA is targeted at the corporate market, resplendent in its PocketPC 2002 livery and the high price that entails. Ask Jeeves seeks route to the desktop

Internet search company, Ask Jeeves has announced it has bought the privately owned Tukaroo Inc, a company which owns a desktop and network search technology. Founded in 2002, Tukaroo's patented technology is said to allow users to perform sub-second searches of files and their contents on the local hard drive, network, and the Internet as well as offering ways to categorise the results.
