Bragg blasts MySpace terms

UK singer-songwriter Billy Bragg has withdrawn his music from MySpace after discovering that the website's terms and conditions allow it to reuse content without his permission. Bragg has called on other MySpace contributors, of which there are many thousands, to start a 'small revolution' and force the site to remove the clause. 'The real problem is the fact that they can sub-license it to any company they want and keep the royalities themselves without paying the artist a penny,' he said on his now content-free MySpace page. ...more

Britain faces a skills crunch that will seriously affect the country's competitiveness in ten years' time according to the report published today. According to a survey undertaken by e-skills and Gartner, the UK is creating only a fraction of the IT professionals it needs to stay ahead in the global marketplace. Amazon leaks look of digital movies store

Amazon appears to have given a possibly unintended sneak preview of a forthcoming digital movies store. A test page has appeared on the Internet retail giant's website, headed 'Lumiere Digital Video Store' although it currently comprises just a handful of cover images from films including The Last Boy Scout and North Country.
