The DVD Copy Control Association (DVD CCA) Appears to have given up its quest to have the DeCSS software that decrypts the data on commercial DVDs declared a trade secret. The organisation had feared that publishing the software would make it easier for programmers to illegally copy and distribute movies. NTL launches 'quadruple play'

Customers of the cable TV operator NTL are now able to take advantage of what is said to be Britain's first 'quadruple' play integrated TV, broadband, telephony and mobile service combined. Quadplay includes multi-channel digital TV with video-on-demand, uncapped 2Mbit broadband, home telephone service and a mobile service for just ?40 per month. Eclipse Internet finished 2003 as the UK's fastest ISP, according to the December speed test results from ADSL Guide.
