Microsoft makes scanners available for detecting IE flaws

Microsoft has said it has made scanners available over the weekend so that worried Windows users can check they haven't been affected by attacks stemming from the latest bug in IE made public last week. Stephen Toulouse, who leads the Microsoft Security Response Center, wrote in the team blog that they had been working round the clock since the flaws were publicised and that while levels of attacks were thought to be low, scanning and removal tools are available at the Windows Live Safety Center. DRAM companies speed up investment to meet explosive DDR2 demand

Realizing the increasingly important role to be played by DDR2 memory, DRAM makers plan to quicken the pace of capital investment for production of the new generation of double data rate chips. Mainly driven by pacesetter Intel and PC OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), demand for DDR2 will quickly rise to 70% on the overall DRAM market before the end of 2004, DRAM makers now estimate. Dell launches cost-effective multi-functional laser printer

Dell's first multi-functional colour laser printer aimed at small- and medium-sized businesses will be available from Tuesday next week. The Multifunction Colour Laser 3115cn combines standalone and network print, scan, copy and fax functionality and is capable of printing up to 30 monochrome and 17 colour pages per minute. To ease manageability, the new printer comes with Dell's ColourTrack2 printer management software, which controls access rights to who can and can't print colour copies. ...more
