China joins international spam fight

China has joined the international effort to combat spam.Reckoned to be the world's third largest producer of spam email, it has signed up to the London Action Plan on Spam Enforcement Collaboration. China will create the Union Network Beijing body as its representative under the London Action Plan and will endeavour to support international co-operation in the war against spam. ...more

Sony revisits the Walkman music player

Sony has unveiled its latest portable music player, known simply as the Walkman. The new Walkman is available in two sizes - 20GB and 6GB - and two colours - silver and violet - with an organic EL display and straightforward controls. Running the championships' own Intranet system and Internet Web caching systems on Linux This year's Wimbledon breaks cover next week, and IBM is using Linux to power both the Web- and on-site technologies, bringing all the action to those that can't make it to Centre Court and wireless access to those that can. IBM is installing its Linux-powered Tivoli Intelligent ThinkDynamic Orchestrator that handles and balances the varying demand to the website - between say, visual coverage of Maria Sharapova games and Cliff Richard live audio feed.
