EMI and Sony BMG have signed a deal to distribute EMI's extensive catalogue of music on a wide range of new digital formats in the US and Canada. Among the new offerings incorporated under the arrangement, are DualDisc, ring tones and ring backs, video downloads including video-on-demand (VOD) services. ATI and Nvidia product shipments slowed by flip-chip-substrate shortage

A shortage of flip-chip substrates in Taiwan may slow the shipment of graphics processors designed by ATI Technologies and Nvidia, according to sources in Taiwan. ATI has had difficulty delivering the RV410 and R430 graphics processors to graphics-card makers since it has had problems with its major chip-packaging partner, Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE), according to sources at graphics-card makers. Music downloads stall as Apple counts on vouchers as revenues ticket

Apple is hoping that 'off the charts' sales of iTunes Music Store vouchers will rejuvenate digital music sales after Nielsen SoundScan reported a fall in average weekly downloads.
