MPs bid to update venerable Computer Misuse Act

The results of an investigation into updating the venerable Computer Misuse Act (CMA) have been published and will be pushed to form a Bill as early as November this year. The inquiry, initiated by the All Party Internet Group (APIG), set out a number of recommendations that would make the pre-Internet 1990 CMA more relevant to tackle the digital crimes of today. Nildram joins capping ISPs

Nildram is the latest ISP to launch 'capped' 512Kbps broadband services, though it prefers the term 'pay as you go'. Two packages are available: 'dslSurf 500 PAYG time' which provides up to 50 hours connection time per month and 'dslSurf 500 PAYG data' which allows for 1Gbit of downstream traffic each month. It's not the first time that the worlds of the silver screen and the sweaty joypad have crossed over, but we have news of two up-and-coming projects that may be of interest to gamers and movie-goers alike. The game rights to that bastion of Christmas movie treats, The Great Escape, have been bought by SCi Entertainment and they plan to develop the game in time for 2002.
