Compaq hitches wagon to Itanium Intel is getting a huge vote of confidence from Compaq in the form of a cross-licensing deal that will see Intel's Itanium processors eventually used in all Compaq's servers. In return, Intel has agreed to buy Compaq's Alpha server chip technology.
