Tougher EU Data Retention rules likely to pass

The new rules are intended to give law enforcement authorities across Europe greater powers to enable them to gather evidence against terrorists and other serious crimes. Vonage's current patent spat with Verizon will not be the death of the company, its chief executive has sought to reassure worried customers. Toshiba launches high and low-end handhelds

Toshiba has announced two new Pocket PCs - bookending the range at the high and low ends. In the UK, Toshiba is allowed to call its Pocket PC-based PDAs Pocket PCs, and the Pocket PC e750 and e350 feature Intel's latest XScale processor: the PXA255 Applications Processor that is optimised for multimedia and wireless applications and offers up to 65 per cent less power consumtion - according to Intel. Travel websites fare poorly for customer service

Travel websites don't take us where we want to go, according to a new survey of online services. The travel sector was found to the worst offender when it came to failing to deliver on user requests. When it came to queries over flight destinations, refunds and visa information, holiday and airline websites could average only one answer out of ten, with 40 per cent unable to answer a single question online. ...more
