Dell to shed 10% of global workforce

Dell has announced plans to cut around 10% of its global workforce over the next year, following the company's dip in first quarter income and drive to restore competitive prices. The company will shed around 8,800 of its total workforce as part of CEO Michael Dell's plans for a 'transformational drive' in operations, which he said is critical to maintaining value for money for customers. It is understood the cuts will affect all departments and all regions, including Dell's Irish operations, which employ 4,500 people in Limerick and Cherrywood, near Dublin. ...more

Fashion houses sue eBay over counterfeit sales

Two major Paris fashion houses are suing eBay for allegedly selling counterfeit goods. Louis Vuitton is seeking damages totalling €20 million while Christian Dior wants €17 million. The Palm-powered Xplore G88 unveiled at 3GSM

The smallest Palm-powered phone in the world has been unveiled at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes. Maker GSPDA is bringing the Xplore G88 to the rest of the world after its predecessor - the G18 - met with an enthusiastic reception in Asia.
