A notorious Russian spammer has been found beaten to death in his Moscow apartment. Russia's 14 million Internet users are said to have greeted the news of Vardan Kushnir's demise with 'thinly veiled jubilation', after he had spent years stuffing their inboxes with advertisements for his American Language Center. PayPal scamming worm asks for bank details

Sophos has alerted users of a new variant of the Mimail virus, which is designed to appear as a PayPal email. Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos, said Mimail variants were not being used by different authors, unlike the various authors of the Blaster virus.
