BBC commits itself to Web services

The BBC is planning to reshape its online offerings into personalised web services and has been highlighting the functionality of its Integrated Media Player (iMP). The future strategy was outlined by the director of the BBC's new media division, Ashley Highfield, who shared a platform with Microsoft boss Bill Gates at the Mix06 conference in Las Vegas. LCD prices on the increase

Leading LCD researcher DisplaySearch has published its latest figures on the state of the LCD flat-panel display market and found that prices are on the increase as demand rises. In the third quarter of 2001, LCD monitor module shipments rose 43 per cent, higher than the anticipated 30 per cent rise. As a result DisplaySearch predicts that the end of year fourth quarter (Q4) will see a 27 per cent rise to 6. ...more
