Panasonic launches two DVD hard disk players

Panasonic, the consumer brand of Matsushita, is to launch two DVD players with hard disks and DVD-RAM/DVD-R recording capabilities. The DMR-E100 and DMR-E200H sport a 120GB and 160GB drive respectively and also offer slots for SD and PCMCIA cards for transferring data. Apple analyst plays down Google phone hype

Google is building software to run services on cell phones rather than gearing up to build a mobile device of its own, as many industry sources have speculated, one Wall Street analyst said on Thursday. Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster said in a research note to clients that Google appears to be building software for Web search on cell phones and location-finding services to work with Apple's iPhone and other cell phones.
