Sharp to acquire Fujitsu's LCD division

Fujitsu is exiting the LCD business, transferring its existing operations to Sharp. Under the terms of the agreement between the two companies, Fujitsu will transfer the LCD research and development, manufacturing and sales operations of its subsidiary, Fujitsu Display Technologies Corporation (FDTC), to Sharp. London is second only to San Francisco as a location for technology companies, according to a new survey. More than 43 per cent of senior California-based ICT executives cited London as a global centre of convergence for the technology and creative industries, ranking the UK's capital second only to San Francisco.
