64bit Nvidia drivers power 64bit Windows multimedia

Nvidia has announced the beta availability of 64-bit software drivers for its nForce3 MCPs (media and communications processors). Optimised for the AMD Athlon 64 and Opteron processors, the drivers will support the beta version of Microsoft Windows XP 64-bit Edition for Extended Systems. US President George Bush has approved a bill to boost US national security that threatens the privacy of computer users around the world. The full extent of the new arm of the US government - called the Department of Homeland Security - is still being determined, but it will ensure that computer operating systems, hardware, data and the Internet are secure. Casio is planning to launch a digital still camera for a budget price of ?60. The LV-10 features a CMOS sensor with 300,000 pixels and a strobe light function. Last century codecs for next-gen Blu-ray

As Sony prepares for the introduction of the first commercial Blu-ray products early next year, its film and TV division is planning to release its first movies on the format using a decade-old codec. Don Eklund, senior vice president of advanced technology for Sony Pictures, has revealed that the it will encode with the same MPEG-2 technology used for DVDs.
