Microsoft edges closer to closing November settlement

US District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly yesterday released a 36-page memorandum saying that the Microsoft, the Justice Department and the nine states seeking a settlement proposed last November had acted in accordance with the Tunney Act. Nvidia and ATI unveil more new chips

The graphics chip market is heating up with the top two suppliers, Nvidia and ATI Technologies, introducing a series of new products. Following the roll-out of its AGP 8x-based NV18 and NV28 chips last month, Nvidia will finally unveil its top-end NV30 chip in November. Microsoft working on virtual wireless

Microsoft is developing Virtual Wi-Fi software that will enable a single Wi-Fi equipped device to simultaneously connect to multiple wireless networks. The technique, described as a 'virtualisation architecture for wireless LAN cards', creates virtual wireless cards each of which can be configured differently to connect to separate networks.
