MiniDiscs talk to PCs

Sony has announced the Net MD, an application interface that lets MiniDiscs connect to PCs via USB. The Net MD allows you to write ATRAC and ATRAC3 formatted music files to MiniDiscs. ATRAC is Sony's proprietary codec, with security features that mean files can only be 'checked out' of the system on which they were recorded a limited number of times before they must be 'checked in' again. ...more

Former AOL boss to face questioning over misleading investors

Former AOL Chairman Steve Case will have to answer questions, in a New York District Court, about his role in misleading investors about the ISP's prospects.
