Google has marked its seventh birthday, by claiming that it has expanded its index of web pages to become three times larger than any other search engine. AMD claims dual-core first with new Opterons

AMD has marked the second anniversary of its 64-bit Opteron chip by releasing multi-core versions of the server and workstation processor and also announcing the AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core processor brand. This will be the dual-core offering for desktops, which is already being sampled, and it is due to ship in June. Worm disguised as iTunes threatens music fans

A new variant of the Opanki worm has emerged that targets music fans by claiming to be Apple's iTunes program. Security company Trend Micro, which issued the alert points out that 'users may be tricked into thinking that this worm is associated with a legitimate product'. BT confirms 1Mbit broadband launch date

BT Wholesale has announced that its IPStream 1000 ADSl broadband service will be launched on 20 November. Many ISPs are already selling 1Mbit connections based on the IPStream trial and customers who have signed should notice no change in their service.
