Google adds KML search to Google Earth

Google has added a new search tool to its Google Earth satellite imagery and mapping application. Users can now search the Internet for all the Google Earth layers stored as Keyhole Markup Language (KML) files. Ganda-A worm may be just the first of viruses to target Net users hungry for news of the Iraq war. The worm is so far the first to specifically target people interested in the ongoing war, but Iraq has quickly become the most searched-for term on the Net, so Ganda-A may well be the first of many. Corel spurs development of SVG with Smart Graphics Studio

Corel has released its Smart Graphics Studio software. It is a development environment for building SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) applications, supporting the combination of graphics with Web Services and XML data sources. HP unveils new blade range

HP has announced a new 'c-Class' of blade servers that, the company says, tackles the main problem areas of energy consumption and heat emission and system complexity and management. The aim being to cut costs in the data management department while providing increased adaptability as the business expands. Microsoft denies WGA is 'spyware'

Microsoft has run into trouble over its Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) programme. A researcher has discovered that a test version of the WGA Notifications component of the system communicates with the Microsoft servers every time the PC is switched on.
