Nvidia introduces 'standard' graphics connector for PCI notebooks

Graphics developer NVidia has agreed a 'standard' graphics interface for the forthcoming next generation of PCI enabled notebooks. The new standard to be known as Mobile PCI Express Module (MXM) will enable notebook manufacturers to design a single motherboard and drop in a graphics solution from any manufacturer without having to redesign for every different GPU. EC charges towards powerline Internet access

To help develop the next generation of powerline technology - using national electricity grids to carry broadband access - the European Commission is spending €9.6 million. BT inks deals for 21CN

Following on from a ?12bn investment in February, BT has announced further progress with its '21st Century Network' (21CN), which it describes as its 'next generation network transformation programme'. BT has concluded negotiations and signed contracts with the remaining four preferred suppliers for the 21CN. Contracts have been signed with Alcatel, Cisco, Ericsson and Fujitsu, following on from Ciena, Huawei, Lucent and Siemens, with whom contracts were signed at the end of last year. ...more
