Toshiba announces world's first 128Mbit Pseudo SRAMs

Toshiba has became the first to roll out Pseudo SRAMs (PSRAM) at 128Mbit densities, providing lower power consumption for use in advanced mobile phones and PDAs. The two devices in the new series were fabricated with 0.175-micron CMOS process technology, have a standby current of 250 microamperes and support access times of 70 or 75 nanoseconds (ns). ...more

Oracle chief puts his money where his mouth is

Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle, is so confident of the performance of Oracle's 8i database and 9i application server, that he offered $1m to anyone whose Web site didn't run three times faster after replacing Microsoft's SQL Server or IBM DB2 software with the products. Strangely, the offer didn't include Oracle's 9i database which was announced the same day. AMD announces tablet chips
