NTL ties up domain deal

NTL has linked up with NetBenefit to provide all its customers with a Web domain and unlimited email addresses for ?25 per year. Those signing up can use a special page on the NetBenefit site to find a suitable domain URL, which will be linked to their existing NTL Web space. NTL says that some 20 per cent of broadband users have set up a website, and therefore believes that the new service will be of particular interest to its more than 900,000 broadband subscribers. ...more

Scottish Police arrest suspect counterfeiter

A two-year anti-piracy operation in Scotland has lead to the arrest of a 35-year-old man and the seizure of an estimated ?250,000 worth of games, music and film discs. Most of the counterfeit software comprised PlayStation 2, Xbox and Gamecube titles, and there was also evidence of consoles being 'chipped'. Trading Standards officers worked with ELSPA (the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association) to target five locations in Dumfries and Galloway. ...more
