Nokia rolls out faster broadband

Mobile telecoms manufacturer Nokia has introduced its D500 IP DSLAM designed to work with the emerging ADSL 2+ standard. The company says that the adoption of ADSL 2+ by ISPs can raise the bandwidth to broadband enabled homes to 20Mbit/sec and beyond. Google has unveiled a new tool designed to give Firefox users a seamless browsing experience even on different machines. Google Browser Sync links up bookmarks, passwords, history and persistent cookies for any computers on which you install it. US Trade Commission investigates Creative iPod dispute

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has begun an investigation of claims that the iPod breaches a patent owned by Creative Technology. Creative filed a lawsuit last month that alleges that Apple's digital music player infringes its 'Zen' user interface patent for portable players. The Singapore-based company has asked that the ITC issue a permanent exclusion order and a permanent cease and desist order against Apple. ...more

IBM signposts multimedia tools for visually impaired

IBM has announced a tool for browsers that gives visually impaired users controls for multimedia content. With the rise of multimedia content on the Internet, blind and visually impaired surfers have difficulty in controlling such content and often find it interferes with the accessibility tools they already have installed, such as screen readers. Dell boosts Axim PDA range with new processors and operating system

Dell Computer is to launch three new PDAs to be known as Axim X30. The devices are fitted with Intel's latest generation of XScale PXA270 processors, formerly codenamed 'Bulverde', designed for better battery life and with built in multimedia extensions.
