Xbox puts TV and movie downloads in the living room

Microsoft has announced that it will begin selling television shows and movies in the US, for viewing on a TV via an Xbox 360. With over 1,000 hours of content available at launch on 22 November, Microsoft will trump Apple's iTV plans by enabling users to download films and programmes direct to their games console via the Xbox live service. Scientists polish diamond transistors

Scientists at the University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory in the USA have developed a method for making transistors from pure diamonds. The transistors can operate in much higher working temperatures than conventional ones and are highly resistant to corrosive chemicals, the New Scientist reports.
