Yahoo! details UK Panama rollout - Internet World 2007

Yahoo! has given more detail about the UK roll out of its Panama platform, for managing online search-related marketing campaigns. In a presentation entitled 'The future of search and search marketing' Yahoo!'s UK Regional Sales Director, Richard Firminger, outlined more details of the software that is crucial for Yahoo! to try and regain the initiative from Google and its rival AdWords programme. Porn to drive i-mode in Europe

Sex cell phones. CeBIT is the venue for KPN subsidiary E-Plus to unveil its i-mode service, complete with a range of i-mode content, including some that are alien to i-mode users in Japan - soft porn. Reuters reports that Takeshi Natsuno, the man responsible for the successful roll-out of the service in Japan said: 'I haven't seen anything like this in official i-mode services in Japan,' brandishing a handset on the screen of which is displayed a pair of naked breasts. ...more

Sophos spots wild virus

Virus-eating virus on the prowl. Antivirus company Sophos has said it has had a report of the W32/Sahay-A in the wild that removes instances of a virus written by a rival. This new virus scans an infected system for the older W32/Yaha-K worm and attempts to remove it from the system as well as making snide comments about the virus author: 'Hi there. ...more
