A company that repairs and in some cases upgrades iPods has been launched in the UK. UK iPod repairs will replace a battery, a screen, a damaged headphone jack socket or a damaged hard drive. A German is the latest company to sue the search engine Google. Metaspinner Media alleges that Google Deutchland infringed its trademarks by allowing competitors to buy ads triggered by keywords using those trademarks. USB 2 may be gaining ground in the PC market, but FireWire is making a comeback, thanks to a new generation of consumer electronics devices. A survey by high-tech market research firm In-Stat found that digital televisions, set-top boxes, and DVD recorders are all driving Firewire growth, And as consumers seek new ways of moving digital content around, the High-Definition Audio Video Networking Alliance (HANA) has endorsed FireWire as a transmission medium for high-definition content, a development which In-Stat says may spur the adoption of the technology in home video networks.
