Nintendo's phone-sized console, the Game Boy Micro, made its retail debut in Tokyo today. It attracted better than expected orders according retailers who described the sales as 'solid', but it sold less well than Nintendo's Game Boy Advance SP had done back in 2003. Sun moves to improve Java Community Process

The Java Community Process (JCP) is the nearest thing that Java has to a standards body and Sun is looking to improve its workings. It wants a wider participation of developers to help shape future specifications for the platform-neutral, 'write once run anywhere' language. Sobig-F tops annual virus chart

Sophos has announced its chart of virus activity for the year 2003, with August's Sobig-F accounting for 19.9 per cent of reports. Hot on the heels of Blaster and Nachi, Sobig-F proved so rapacious that Sophos was receiving 400,000 copies a day - and not reports from worried users, but cases where a Sophos email address was in an infected computer's contact list. ...more
