EMI boss dispels Net music myths

EMI chief Tony Wadsworth has defended the UK music industry against its seemingly increasing number of critics by attempting to dispel his 'Top 10 myths and misunderstandings'. Writing in the Guardian, Wadsworth says that record companies are not anti-downloading or anti file sharing technologies. Freeserve denies cheap broadband to tempt switchers

Freeserve is not commenting on a report that it offered an existing customer a cut in the price of their broadband connection to stop them switching to another ISP. Epson claims digital paper breakthrough

Epson is claiming a breakthrough in the pursuit of digital paper: a foldable flexible screen that could be used to replace paper. It claims the quad XGA (1536 x 2048) resolution marks out its A6-size sample as the highest resolution prototype in existence. VIA launches JEDEC Standard DDR400 Memory certification

Chip developer, VIA Technologies, has introduced a programme to validate JEDEC specification DDR400 memory for its chipsets for the Intel Pentium and AMD Athlon XP processors. The programme, developed in conjunction with Advanced Validation Labs (AVL), uses VIA's PT800 and KT600 reference platforms.
