BT spices 8Mbps broadband services

BT is rolling out 8Mbps services to its customers, with special deals to attract new blood. Headline speeds for the service are 8Mbps downstream and 448Kbps upstream, and the company is plugging its Broadband Talk net phone services in tandem with these faster speeds. Nildram, the UK's fastest ADSL broadband supplier, has launched two new high-speed services. dslXtra1000 and dslXtra2000 provide 1Mbit/sec and 2Mbit/sec downstream respectively, two and four times the speed of standard 512k ADSL services. After a year or so of debate Yahoo! has finally decided to tackling the problems of spam and phishing by pressing ahead with the DomainKeys on its Yahoo! Mail. The DomainKeys technology developed by Yahoo! on the principle of encryption of authentication between mail servers.
