Samsung prepares 16Gbit flash memory Samsung has announced that it has begun customer testing of the world's first 16Gbit NAND flash memory, using an ultra-dense 50nm process technology. The first samples have a multi-level cell (MLC) designed with a 4KB page size designed to improve both read and write performance: by superseding the conventional 2KB paging system for MLC NAND flash Samsung has doubled read speeds and increased write speeds by 150 per cent.
