Microsoft aims to cut cost of business intelligence software

Microsoft looked at possible acquisitions to gain a foothold in the market for so-called business intelligence software, but decided to build its own business and compete on price against industry leaders, the company's business division president said on Wednesday. Adobe backs down over hacker arrest

Last weekend, at the Defcon 9 hacker conference, Dmitry Sklyarov was arrested minutes after delivering a talk about his new software tool, the Advanced eBook Processor, which was designed to break the anti-copying features of Adobe's eBook Reader program.
