UK turns its back on Internet obscenity

It seems that UK ISPs are increasingly getting their act together on refusing to host obscene online content. This is the verdict drawn by the IWF (Internet Watch Foundation), which has released its annual report. The Ukrainian company Odessa is launching its ConceptDraw diagramming package in the UK. For drawing flow charts, technical drawings, office plans, or sketching out designs such as for Websites, it can also be programmatically extended by its own version of Basic. TimeWarner threatens to set the lawyers on YouTube

The CEO of TimeWarner is threatening to sue YouTube for 'breach of copyright', according to newspaper reports. Dick Parsons, the chairman and chief executive of Time Warner told The Guardian, 'You can assume we're in negotiations with YouTube and that those negotiations will be kicked up to the Google level in the hope that we can get to some acceptable position.' Freescale unveils revamped Power PC chip

Freescale Semiconductor has unveiled the new MPC7448 Power PC processor, a low-power successor to the MPC7447A currently employed in Apple's PowerBook range. The new chip is the first that Freescale has produced using its new 90nm silicon-on-insulator CMOS process which increases clock and bus speeds while giving 'substantial' power reductions.
