Northern Ireland to get 100 per cent ADSL coverage

BT Wholesale has announced yet another batch of ADSL ready for service dates, primarily in Northern Ireland and Scotland. This means that all the 119 exchanges in Northern Ireland currently without ADSL now have ready for service dates. Of course extending coverage to 100 per cent of exchanges may not mean that averyone will have access to broadband, given the current 60dB signal degradation maximum, which limits the service to properties within some 6km of the exchange. ...more

Sony widens the view

No High Street Apple in the UK

Apple's confirmation that it is to open its first retail store - likely to be the first in a chain of stores across the US - makes the company unique amongst computer makers as having both a chain of its own stores and a dealer network. An Apple spokesperson was unavailable for comment on whether the stores would be rolled out in the UK.
