The federal court found in favour of MGM STUDIOS, which is leading the case, that 321's software put it in breach of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Pocket PC ads under FTC scrutiny

Microsoft is again on the wrong side of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which is looking into its recent advertising campaign for the Pocket PC platform. The print campaign that began in April last year outlined a number of Pocket PC functions, including accessing the Net. Profitability stays out of reach for AMD

A growth in sales and reduced costs have not proved enough to get AMD back in the black, according to its latest quarterly financial report. The company reported a net loss of $140mn for the three months ending 29 June, 2003. Sun opens its OpenSolaris operating system

Sun Microsystems officially unveiled its OpenSolaris operating system, based on Solaris 10 code. The open-source platform will form the future code-base of Sun's proprietary Solaris operating system, and will be distributed under Sun's OSI-approved CDDL (Common Development and Distribution Licence).
