ID theft rises on phish attack surge

Online identity theft has risen dramatically since January, pushed on by a wave of malware and phishing attacks, says risk monitoring specialist Cyveillance. Trojan changes Windows code to leave PCs vulnerable

A new active Trojan has been identified by the security company Sophos, dubbed PatchLS because of its manipulation of the LSASS (Local Security Authority Subsystem Service). So far, Sophos has received one report from the wild of multiple machines being infected by the Trojan. Evesham heats up support for Mayan Indians

The UK computer company Evesham is backing an expedition to provide Onil stoves for the Mayan Indians in Guatemala, Central America. Working with the aid organisation HELPS International, the aim is to develop training provisions for native Mayans and to install the Onil ovens.
