After months of waiting Sun Microsystems has finally released its Unix-based Solaris 9 x86 Platform Edition operating system for PC based servers. Paris eyes city-wide WiFi

Paris wireless. That's the goal of the city's Mayor, Bertrand Delanoe, who has been speaking of a plan to set up 400 free Wi-Fi hot-spots next year for city-wide coverage. In advance of an 'imminent' launch of its own search engine, Microsoft has issued a statement of intent by launching its own version of the popular Google News to be known as MSN Newsbot. Based initially on feeds from the Moreover news aggregation service, the new beta service aims to provide news on a range of subjects including World, Sports, Entertainment, Science and Technology.
