Dell has begun offering a flash memory, solid state drive (SSD) as an alternative to a hard drive (HDD) in two of its ultra-portable laptop models, the Latitude D420 ultra-mobile and D620 ATG semi-rugged. Fon gets Gspace for Gmail

Wireless internet service provider Fon has bought browser plugin maker Gspace for an undisclosed amount. Gspace is a Firefox browser extension that allows users to upload and keep files using their GMail accounts. Europe unlikely to copy US spyware clampdown

A UK legal expert believes that US moves to jail spyware perpetrators are unlikely to be copied by European authorities. A US House of Representatives subcommittee has this week approved a bill that recommends up to five years in prison for convicted distributors of malicious spyware.
