AMD unveils an Opteron fit for a supercomputer

As expected AMD has filled out its Opteron processor line with a new addition. Last week, AMD shuffled its processor pricing - AMD cuts prices for mobile computing - and the Opteron range was affected. MacUser Awards 2003: winners announced

Apple again was the star at the UK's most prestigious Mac awards, picking up six Maxines, one more than it garnered last year. The 20in Cinema Display, 40GB iPod, Final Cut Pro and Soundtrack all claimed the 'best in their class' gong while the Power Mac G5 was given the Readers' Award for Hardware of the Year and the Special Award for Product of the Year. Real to update its online music store

Real Networks is poised to unveil a new version of its Rhapsody online music store at an event in New York today. It promises a 'to unveil a groundbreaking initiative [that] will change the Internet and revolutionise digital music'. Precise details remain patchy, but it seems that the store will provide compatibility with most portable media players, having licensed Microsoft's Janus DRM technology, and will, like Napster, give subscribers access to its entire music catalogue. ...more
