Virgin launches TV-on-mobile service

BT's DAB television service for mobile phones has launched with mobile operator Virgin to offer it to its customers via a phone from HTC. Following successful trials earlier this year, the new service will broadcast BBC1, ITV1, Channel 4 and E4 programming, complete with a seven-day electronic program guide. Joint venture to produce organic displays

Samsung and NEC have announced a joint venture worth 500bn Korean won (?288m) to develop low-power screens for use in mobile devices. The new company, called Samsung NEC Mobile Display, will produce organic electroluminescent (EL) displays - a self-emitting light technology - that don't need background lighting and consume less power.
