British Library digitises Mozart

Starting today, the British Library is presenting Mozart in electronic form. Specifically, Mozart's Verzeichn?ss aller meiner Werke (Catalogue of all my Works) is being made available over the Internet for the first time. The digitised version of the original manuscript - which uses the Turning Pages interface, to simulate handling a physical document - presents 30 pages and 75 musical introductions (included as audio) to some of Mozart's compositions. ...more

Iomega has introduced a SCSI version of its REV removable storage system. Designed to replace entry level tape and other backup devices used with servers, the REV SCSI can store up to 35GB (maximum 90GB compressed) on each removable hard drive cassette. Dell launches cost-effective multi-functional laser printer

Dell's first multi-functional colour laser printer aimed at small- and medium-sized businesses will be available from Tuesday next week. The Multifunction Colour Laser 3115cn combines standalone and network print, scan, copy and fax functionality and is capable of printing up to 30 monochrome and 17 colour pages per minute. AMD to supply 26,000 processors to schools in China

AMD has signed a deal to supply 26,000 processors for PCs in schools in China. The deal with Chinese OEMs Dawning and Lenovo - the new owners of IBM's PC division - means AMD will supply Sempron chips to Lenovo Qitian M 6200M PCs and Opterons for the Dawning Tiankuo A Series i200-A servers. Universal targets YouTube

Universal Music appears to be sharpening its lawyers for a possible legal battle with the social networking sites YouTube and MySpace. Universal, which is also the world's largest music publisher, is reportedly concerned about its promotional music videos appearing on the sites. 'We believe these new businesses are copyright infringers and owe us tens of millions of dollars,' Universal Music CEO Doug Morris is reported to have told investors Wednesday. ...more
