HP targets SMBs with new all-in-one storage range

HP today announced a suite of new storage systems specifically aimed at small-to-medium sized businesses, claiming the new devices were 'unbelievably simple, uniquely affordable and unquestionably reliable'. The target customers for the new StorageWorks All-in-One Storage Systems are companies that currently use direct attached storage, with HP offering a range of four products that contain up to 3TB of capacity, disaster recovery tools and HP's proprietary management software. Microsoft re-signs NHS to nine-year licensing deal

A nine year deal has been signed by Microsoft and the National Health Service which gives the NHS a licence to use Microsoft software across 900,000 computers. Neither Microsoft nor the NHS will confirm the value of the deal although The Times today mentioned a figure of around ?500 million over the term of the contract. Bluetooth technology ready for the big time

It's been a long time coming, but analysts at the In-Stat/MDR research group predict Bluetooth is about to explode onto the mainstream market, with shipments of devices offering the wireless technology rocketing 60 per cent every year to more tha 700 million by 2008. 'Most of the end-use markets for this technology seem to be making significant headway,' said Joyce Putscher, Director of the high-tech market research firm's Converging Markets and Technologies Group. JavaScript flaw returns to threaten Internet Explorer

Microsoft is warning customers that it knows of malicious software being used to exploit a security hole in Internet Explorer, which is as yet unpatched.
