Record industry eyes digital radio for revenue opportunities

Reuters is reporting that the recording industry is turning its eye to digital radio broadcasters in an attempt to generate new legislation and even technology that would prevent people from recording music from the airwaves. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), says it has been working with the Federal Trade Commission in the US to finalise legislation on digital radio broadcasting, which currently operates under interim regulations, and include rules that might stop the recording of individual songs on the radio unless they are paid for.
