Nobel Prize winners weigh in on anti-trust case

The period for public comments on the proposed settlement of the Microsoft anti-trust case has closed, and two Nobel Prize winning economists have weighed in against it. Both Kenneth Arrow and Joseph Stiglitz are reported to have filed affidavits as part of submissions from the ProComp organisation (partly funded by the likes of Sun and AOL). Tories to urge caution over BBC net plans

The Conservative Party has launched an attack on the BBC website, saying that it must be prevented from using its size and resources to push smaller players out of the Internet market. Shadow chancellor George Osbourne will tell a conference later today that the activities of the BBC protected from market forces by its licence fee, could deny the public new products and services.
