Canon has introduced the latest addition to its printers line-up, the portable, Bluetooth-compatible Bubble Jet i80. The compact, 4,800x1,200 device prints up to A4 at a maximum speed of 14ppm mono and 10ppm colour, with a 2pl droplet size to ensure good type quality. Danes charge pirates, BT to test 'Midband', broadband Q&A

A Danish anti-piracy organisation has started sending bills to people it says have illegally downloaded music, movies and games. According to the Associated Press, the AntiPiratGruppen, funded by Danish entertainment companies, has billed 150 individual, schools and businesses. Bills ranged from around ?83 to ?8,450 and so far half have been paid, despite concerns that billing process may have violated Danish anti-piracy law. ...more

Adobe acquires DVD authoring technology

Adobe has announced an agreement to license DVD authoring technology in order to create a professional DVD authoring application. The agreement with Sonic Solutions will allow Adobe to use the technology that underpins Sonic's market-leading systems for DVD-video production, including the AuthorScript formatting engine. Adobe reports that according to industry analysts Dataquest DVD players are being bought by consumers 'faster than any other device in history'. ...more
