Intel reaches 2GHz barrier for mobile processor

Intel has released a new series of Pentium 4 M (Mobile) chips aimed at the notebook market which clock at the milestone 2Gz mark. EU states approve multi-million fine for Microsoft

EU member states have approved the amount that Microsoft will be fined for anti-trust violations by its Windows operating system. Competition commissioner Mario Monti's presented his findings to representatives from the 15 governments and got backing for a fine that will run into hundreds of millions of dollars. HP cuts 1,580 jobs in the UK

Hewlett-Packard has issued a statement confirming 1,400 job losses in the UK, which are part of its planned 5,900 Europe-wide staff reduction. The UK cuts involve 450 permanent staff based in HP's manufacturing plant in Erskine, Scotland. This move, however, is in line with the company's pre-merger strategy of outsourcing its commercial PC manufacturing. ...more
