HP cuts 1,580 jobs in the UK

Hewlett-Packard has issued a statement confirming 1,400 job losses in the UK, which are part of its planned 5,900 Europe-wide staff reduction. The UK cuts involve 450 permanent staff based in HP's manufacturing plant in Erskine, Scotland.
